The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an experienced research-focused academic to join the Australian node of the NVIDIA South East Asia Technology Centre, based at Monash University.  NVIDIA is an American technology company with a strong focus on artificial intelligence.

The position is based in the Monash eResearch Centre, a University commitment to accelerating research by applying advanced computing and information technology to important research problems. Staff at the Monash eResearch Centre deliver impact: we help visualise how the human brain is connected, we design high performance computing systems, we write data processing workflows for one-of-a-kind Australian microscopes, and we write smart software for interrogating unique data collections. MeRC is driven by the quality and passion of our staff, and the partnership with the researchers we work with.

Monash eResearch works with a huge variety of world-unique data collections, next-generation data producing instruments, and impactful scientists from across research domains. NVIDIA was recently named as the world smartest company by the MIT Technology Review, due to its role as the leading provider of processing for AI software.

In this position you will be supported by both Monash and NVIDIA to achieve key research goals, acting as a key point of contact to provide expertise and collaboration across the research applications, with a focus on applying deep learning technology to areas such as instrumentation, real-time processing and medical imaging, robotics, visualisation, smart cities and water management.

With a doctoral qualification in a relevant field and a track record of refereed research publications, you will create and support meaningful collaborations with Monash researchers to apply your machine learning or data science expertise, apply NVIDIA technology, to new research problems, and become a major link between NVIDIA and Monash University.

The appointment is being offered at either as Level B or Level C, apply today to ensure you do not miss out on this unique opportunity to join a cutting edge research venture!

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
