Operating as a university owned subsidiary, VU Online is an exciting new venture which, together with the assistance of service providers,will build, market and deliver high quality online courses.
About the Role
The VU Online Academic Director will be responsible for sourcing and managing critical elements needed to build and deliver high quality online Higher Education courses. These include developing the quality assurance mechanisms outlined in the business case to embed a continuous improvement approach through ongoing course reviews and the sourcing/management of skilled unit coordinators, subject matter experts and facilitators. Effective stakeholder engagement (both external and internal – including Academic Board)will also be a key feature of this interesting and challenging role.
About the Person
An experienced leader in the University sector, you will have a clear understanding of the changing tertiary education landscape and the contemporary learning environment. Ideally an academic with a career long teaching and learning focus, you will have a comprehensive knowledge of, and interest in, online learning and academic governance. This is a great opportunity to have a real impact on the development of this vital part of Victoria University’s transformational agenda.
