The Institute of Music, Media and Communication Studies, Department of Communication Studies and Phonetics at the Faculty of Philosophy II of Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg invites applications for the position of a tenured

W2 Professorship – Communication Studies with a special focus on Phonetics

The successful candidate is expected to represent the field of communication studies / speech science with a special emphasis on linguistically oriented phonetics in both teaching and research. Furthermore, the person to be appointed should have teaching and/or research experience in another subdiscipline of speech science, preferably in rhetorical or aesthetic communication. 

The candidate should have experience in acquiring funding for research as well as in collaborating with academic partners and practitioners and is expected to promote the internationalisation of communication studies. She/he will contribute to the reorganisation of the discipline within the newly founded Institute of Music, Media and Communication Studies and the further development of study programmes. 

Additional duties are described in Section 34 of the Higher Education Act of the state of Saxony-Anhalt (HSG LSA).

A doctoral degree and additional academic achievements relevant to the field (the German Habilitation or equivalent achievements) as well as proof of pedagogical qualification are prerequisites. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of Section 35 of HSG LSA.
