Research Assistant II (holding the functional title of Software Developer or Multimedia Designer) (two posts) in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201800058) (to commence or as soon as possible for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Creative Media or a closely related field, with strong programming skills and some relevant work experience. They should have fluency in English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills; good technical background; a strong sense of responsibility; be able to work independently; and be a good team player. Fresh graduates with relevant technical background and good academic performance are also welcome. Those with an Associate degree in the relevant fields and at least 2 years’ experience in programming may be considered. A good background in any programming language (C/C++, Java, Python, Swift) and good knowledge of iOS developer environment are a must. Experience in Unity 3D (knowledge of optimizing the Unity 3D environment and game logic, with 3D content creation) and AR/VR technologies, as well as image processing and creative media production skills are highly desirable.
The appointees will work on a project funded by Quality Education Fund titled Enhancing Language Education with Artificial Reality Neo-platform (eLEARN). They will be responsible for drafting the user requirement with the Research Officer on the eLEARN augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR) contents; conducting use case analysis, process modeling, and data modeling; as well as implementing and testing the eLEARN platform to ensure its stability and compatibility with devices on iOS system.
