Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I/II (holding the functional title of Software Developer) in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering (Ref.: 201800003) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related fields. They should have at least 3 years' work experience OR a Master's Degree (or above) with at least 2 years' work experience in commercial/professional software programming. Substantial experiences with script languages (Python etc.) and GUI development (with openGL etc.) are required. Knowledge on parallel computing (openMP, MPI) and scientific computing (Intel MKL, LAPACK etc.) is highly desired. The appointee will be involved in the Area of Excellence Project "Theory, Modeling, and Simulation of Emerging Electronics" ( Job duties include developing sophisticated software (in Python/C++) based on academic code (mostly in FORTRAN) stemmed from university research, and GUI and 3D visualization capabilities; maintaining existing software and improving current software in the whole software development cycle; following PMS to manage/keep tracking of software development progress. Those with less experience and qualifications maybe considered for the post of Research Assistant I/II.
