Work with leading Monash University academics and the Australian and New Zealand School of Government to increase the impact of public sector training.

What is the Project?

In October 2017 Monash University and government agency partners announced that, for the first time in Australia, 18 applied behaviour change PhD scholarships would be offered through the Monash Graduate Research Industry Partnership program (GRIP).

The Behaviour Change GRIP seeks to meet strong demand for behavioural researchers who are willing and able to work with some of Australia’s leading government agencies to co-design and deliver new interdisciplinary behaviour change approaches to help solve public policy issues.

This project is supported by the Australian and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) and is designed to examine the impact of executive education on the public sector by broadening existing research activities.

What are we aiming to achieve?

The planned project research focus will help ANZSOG better understand the impact of its training and further develop behavioural insight and approaches that ensure knowledge and skills gained through its programs are translated into practice. The research will also have a broader impact and relevance for providers of executive education globally.

What are we seeking in you?

We want your entrepreneurial mindset and a strong interest in solving public policy issues in an interdisciplinary manner, your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and your willingness to travel and work from different locations to achieve the aims of this project.

Ideally you will hold an Australian or New Zealand bachelor’s degree with First Class Honours (H1) or qualifications and/or research experience deemed equivalent by the University.
