The management discipline of the Department of Management and Marketing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University invites applications for faculty positions in management (Organizational Behaviour, Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, and Organization Theory) at the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. Management faculty members in our Department regularly publish in top-tier journals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Behavior and Human Decision Processes and other premier outlets. The management group also includes the current Editor-in-Chief of the Academy of Management Journal. The appointees will be required to:
(a) engage in top-level scholarly research in their areas of expertise;
(b) supervise research students;
(c) compete for Hong Kong Research Grants Council funding; and
(d) teach at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree at the time of appointment or be close to receiving it.
Preference will be given to those with a focused research orientation and the potential or demonstrated ability to publish in high quality scholarly journals. Applicants may be considered for the rank above Assistant Professor depending on experience and qualifications.
Remuneration and Conditions of Service
The compensation package, teaching loads, and research support are highly competitive. Initial appointment for Assistant Professor will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement. An appropriate term will be provided for appointment at Associate Professor level or above.
