Subject/subject description

Business Administration with a Specialisation in Accounting. Accounting is the part of the Business Administration that focuses on studies of financial accounting, management accounting or auditing.

Main responsibilities

The position includes teaching and participation in the planning and development of education at undergraduate,- graduate and PhD-level. Participation in the institution's executive and professional education in Sweden and internationally may also be included in the teaching work. The position also include supervision of students at different levels, course development, course responsibility and own research.

Teaching is expected to take place in English as well as in Swedish. It is also expected that the applicant can teach all the subject areas and at all levels, ie at both the undergraduate and the advanced level.

The applicant is also expected to contribute to the development of research disciplinary research and promote the international profile of the institution through international scientific publications and research applications.

Qualification requirements

Eligible applicants for the position of senior lecturer in Business Administration with a focus on accounting should hold a PhD in Business Administration with a focus on accounting or has a Swedish or foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to such a doctorate.

Teaching proficiency should have been demonstrated through teaching experience at both the undergraduate- and master’s levels. Teaching proficiency should be well documented and in a manner that makes it possible to assess the quality of the teaching activities.

The applicant must have the ability to cooperate with colleagues as well as other abilities that are required in order successfully to meet the demands of the position.

Assessment criteria

Special and equal emphasis will be placed on research skills demonstrated through own research and teaching skills demonstrated through own teaching and supervision, course responsibility and pedagogical development in the subject discipline accounting. As regards scientific skill and documenting the research activity, international publications in the field of discipline have been particularly meritorious in the last five years.
Strong emphasis will be placed on a documented ability to cooperate well with colleagues and fellow researchers.

Emphasis will be placed on administrative skills and proven collaboration with the surrounding society and dissemination of research and development findings.

Emphasis will also be placed on having successfully planned, applied for and obtained research project funds from external research funding bodies.
Emphasis will also be placed on experience in teaching in external accounting. It is a merit to have completed at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.

Additional information

An applicant who does not have at least 15 higher education credits in teaching and learning in higher education, and is not deemed to have acquired equivalent knowledge, must complete such training within the first two years of employment.

Proficiency in Swedish is not a requirement at the time of appointment, but the candidate should be prepared to carry out teaching and administrative duties that require proficiency in Swedish within two years of employment.
