Salary - £28,098 - £32,548 per annum (pro rata)
Part time (14.8 hours per week) for a temporary period of 8 weeks, after which work will be undertaken on a casual basis
We are seeking enthusiastic professionals to work on a bank/sessional basis to support our permanent team during the busiest times of the academic calendar.
You will provide responsive, specialist counselling to York St John University students who are experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties with the aim of helping students manage their psychological wellbeing in the context of their academic and university experience.
You will be part of a friendly, dedicated, professional multi-disciplinary Wellbeing Team (Counsellors, Mental Health Advisers, Welfare Advisers) working within the wider context of the University's Student and Staff Services directorate You will have the ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a supportive team member.
A psychological practitioner registered with a professional body (e.g. BACP, BPS) you will have experience of counselling young adults and of working in an institution. You will have a good understanding of the issues currently facing the Higher Education sector, and how these affect student wellbeing and mental health. You will have excellent clinical assessment skills, be able to manage a busy caseload and contribute to the development of the Wellbeing Team interventions on offer.
