Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Surgery (Ref.: 201701696) (to commence as soon as possible for one or two year(s), with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Higher Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree, and should have good computer knowledge including MS office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) and preferably SPSS (for Windows); and knowledge of statistical analysis.  Those with past experience in clinical work in public hospital would have an advantage. The appointee should be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team.  Scope of work includes, but not limited to, subject identification and recruitment; assist surgeons in taking photos of operations and specimens; collect blood and tissue samples; contact with patients; data entry and database management etc. Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref. 201700687) need not re-apply.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointments on two-year fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
