The Research and Innovation Portfolio oversees research and research training across the University through the development and implementation of RMIT University's strategic research priorities and managing research systems and reporting requirements. The Portfolio supports the research activity of staff and student researchers with professional development, collaboration and funding opportunities, ethics and responsible conduct compliance, contract development, intellectual property, project completions and profiling.
The role and your responsibilities
The Executive Assistant (EA) provides high quality, flexible administrative support to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) Research & Innovation. You have the responsibility for all tasks that support the DVC's day-to-day operations in the Research & Innovation Portfolio. The position requires regular liaison with senior management of the University and is the first point of telephone contact for people wishing to communicate with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor. It also requires interactions with external agencies, government officials and staff in other educational institutions, as well as broadly across the University.
Skills and experience required
The ideal candidate will bring to the role your extensive experience in providing high-level administrative support at Executive level, preferably within the higher education or research sector. Experience should cover diary, email and travel management, correspondence bring forward action management, document development and high level liaison. Your highly developed interpersonal skills and the proven ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of management, staff and external parties on complex, sensitive and confidential issues will be essential to your success in this role. Furthermore, key to this role will be your highly developed verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
