Research Fellow/Senior Research Assistant in Health Professions Education for Patient Safety (Ref HLS17/27)

Part Time 40% FTE – Fixed-Term for 18 months in the first instance

Salary:  £27,498 - £38,832 pro rata per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Working in the department of Nursing Midwifery and Health at our Coach lane Campus, and in collaboration with European partners (Academic and Clinical), the post-holder will work with the team to successfully deliver Shared Learning from Practice for Patient Safety (SLIPPS). SLIPPS is an EU co-funded project spanning five countries, seven academic institutions and multiple health and social care organizations. SLIPPS is focused on health professions education for patient safety and combines educational innovation, research and network development. 

The appointed person will work closely with the project lead Associate Professor Dr A Steven in the development, organization and running of the project, to ensure that this project is completed on time, to budget and that information is disseminated appropriately via reports, presentations and academic papers.

You must have knowledge of patient safety, hold professional registration and have ability to design and implement patient or student focused practice developments and/or research studies. We wish to appoint a professional with well-developed communication skills who has the ability to work as an integral and co-operative member of our multi-national research group and help build future capacity in patient safety and education research. Attention to detail and proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks and successful working to deadlines is essential. In addition, experience of health professions education would be highly desirable for appointment at grade 5 and essential for appointment at grade 6.
