Job Outline

The role is responsible to: 1) support faculty marketing and business development, build and maintain good relationship with industry, university and other partners, to explore collaboration and develop CPD opportunities; 2) support faculty student recruitment activities, including attending recruitment fairs, school/university visits, etc.; 3) support the building-up of public awareness of the faculty via all kinds of media channels, including maintaining website, social media, and leading various public engagement projects.



  • Master’s Degree
  • Good English communication skills;
  • Be able to copywrite accurate and compelling content for marketing collateral;
  • Good photography/filming skills;
  • Digital Image editing skills;
  • Proven IT skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Experience of overseas study or working in an international setting and/or education organisation;
  • Understanding the relevant;
  • Professional, legal and regulatory;
  • Requirements and code of conduct;
  • Ability to work well under pressure;
  • Ability to work independently and proactively within a team;
  • Ability to identify and set priorities and ability to work accurately and to deadlines are essential;
  • Responsible and trustworthy;
  • A willingness to work at weekends or extended hours as the role demands.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1.    Faculty business development administration (30%)

  • To liaise and build working relationships with key contacts from external bodies, to support work activities and to ensure appropriate flow of information;
  • To generate and coordinate all kinds of public engagement and outreaching projects;
  • To provide administrative and marketing support for the projects and collaborations between University and external bodies;
  • To develop, manage and coordinate summer schools programme or short courses for students at various levels;
  • To support other department and faculty receive visitors, arrange lab tour and meeting with academic staff;

2.    Faculty marketing activities support (30%)

  • To learn and understand the programmes offered consistently and provide suggestions on curriculum from the perspective of marking and recruitment;
  • To identify programme strengths and weaknesses through a variety of research;
  • To timely update social media with appropriate and accurate information, latest news, marketing materials, etc.;
  • To provide translation between English and Chinese for marketing materials;
  • To deliver both maintenance and enhancement of the existing website;
  • To set up monthly website review plan, identifying all problematic content and potential updates;
  • To lead video projects, shooting videos for Schools, programmes and modules;

3.    Faculty promotion & recruitment activities support (30%)

  • To participate in/coordinate recruitment trips to promote faculty programmes;
  • To assist in coordinating participation at key University events and manage student helpers; e.g. University Open Day; Coordinate and support University Tri-Unity Scheme Test;
  • To liaise with departments, the Global Recruitment Office and the Communications and Marketing Team to maximise effectiveness of these events;
  • To advise on presentations for use at events to promote the work of the departments;

4.    Others (10%)

  • To liaise and build working relationships with key contacts from other school/departmental/work units as well as external bodies, to support work activities and to ensure appropriate flow of information;
  • To manage and provide guidance to student interns;
  • To carry out other administrative duties and contribute to other areas of work as required;
  • To participate in training and staff development schemes as trainee as appropriate;
  • To maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness;
  • To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.
