About the job

Our Research Administration Assistant – Contracts provides effective research administration and support within Swinburne Research by enabling and undertaking efficient contracts administration services. 

You will maintain key research information contracts databases that support the work of the University including the administration of the workflow across the Research Funding and Operations team. You will also undertake assist with administrative tasks associated with the submission of research contracts. Support in organising information workshops and training, responding to inquiries, maintaining filing systems and contributing to the ongoing improvement of procedures and processes are also essential elements of the role. You will undertake basic contract risk review and negotiate simple contracts under the direction of the Research Contracts Advisor and monitor and report on the status timeliness of contract review and execution by other staff in the Research Funding and Operations team. 

You will work closely with other staff and teams in Swinburne Research and the University to support the research enterprise. The role is based in Hawthorn, Melbourne.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications or training and experience (ideally gained within a legal environment)
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with a wide variety of people, to identify needs and to impart knowledge in a professional manner.
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines without compromising close attention to detail and accuracy
