The Department of Educational Theory and Curriculum Studies at the Danish School of Education at Aarhus University invites applications for an assistant/associate professorship in the field of literacy and Danish as a school subject.
The assistant professorship is a full-time, three-year training position which begins on 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The associate professorship is a permanent position which begins on 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The position is based at DPU campus Emdrup/Copenhagen or Aarhus. It is important that the successful applicant takes part in the daily activities of the department, including both teaching and supervising. Since the department is situated in both Aarhus and Copenhagen, the successful applicant should expect some travel activity between Aarhus and Copenhagen.
We are seeking an innovative and dedicated applicant who will contribute to Aarhus University’s core activities in the areas of research, education, talent development and knowledge exchange. The position focuses on aspects of literacy and Danish as a school subject, and may also include participation in international comparative assessment studies and compulsory school research. We expect the successful applicant to cooperate with the research environment in curriculum studies, Danish and literacy at DPU, both in the Department of Educational Theory and Curriculum Studies and in particular with the National Centre for School Research. The successful applicant will also be expected to cooperate with colleagues in relation to the IEA studies, i.e. the PIRLS study.
Key criteria of the assessment will be the quality of the research output, which is expected to meet international standards, and successful teaching experience at university level within the field of literacy.
