The Danish School of Education at Aarhus University invites applications for an assistant/associate professorship in the field of language, mobility and globalisation.

The assistant professorship is a full-time, three-year training position which begins on 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The associate professorship is a permanent position which begins on 1 August 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position is based at DPU campus Emdrup/Copenhagen. The successful applicant will be a part of either the Department of Educational Theory and Curriculum Studies or the Department of Educational Anthropology based at DPU campus Emdrup/Copenhagen.

It is important that the successful applicant takes part in the daily activities of the department, including both teaching and supervising. Since both departments are situated in both Aarhus and Copenhagen, the successful applicant should expect some travel activity between Aarhus and Copenhagen.

The position

We are seeking an innovative and dedicated candidate who will contribute to Aarhus University‚Äôs core activities in the areas of research, education, talent development and knowledge exchange. The position focuses on aspects of language as social practice, educational theory in linguistically diverse learning sites, and educational mobility. We expect the successful applicant to cooperate with the research environments in literacy, second languages, educational anthropology, linguistic ethnography and mobility at DPU, at both the Department of Educational Anthropology and the Department of Educational Theory and Curriculum Studies.  

Key criteria of the assessment will be the quality of the research output, which is expected to meet international standards, and successful teaching experience at university level within the field of language, communicative practices in multilingual contexts, mobility and globalisation.
