Salary Level:  Classification Level 7 (Salary range A$82,499 to A$90,184 gross per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions)
Appointment:  Full-time, fixed-term (5 years)

Overview of Sunshine Coast Mind and Neuroscience – Thompson Institute (SCMN-TI)

The Sunshine Coast Mind and Neuroscience – Thompson Institute is developing into a world-class facility for mental health and neurological research, teaching and associated clinical services. The institute will enable USC to make a major contribution to the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the brain and mind and be at the forefront of vital research in the areas of ageing and dementia and mental health issues relating to youth and adults alike.

Overview of the Role

Under the broad direction of the Director, SCMN-TI, the Radiographer will perform diagnostic and research imaging examinations. The role will be neuro-focused, however will also include other areas such as clinical scanning and veterinary scanning.

The Radiographer will perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans using a 3T Siemens Skyra. The incumbent will provide a high standard of patient care within a mental health setting, developing practices, policies and procedures that support the continuity of patient care. The Radiographer works closely with the Thompson Institute’s research team, contributing to program design and management, and providing specialist advice and training as required.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in medical imaging, with MRI accreditation and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). The successful candidate will also have significant relevant experience in a multi-disciplinary environment, including experience across all magnetic resonance imaging modalities. Experience in image analysis, veterinary imaging and supporting research programs will be highly regarded.
