Research Fellow in Li-S State Estimation 

Fixed Term contract for 12 months (or until 30 April 2019
depending on start date) to commence as soon as possible

£32,094 per annum

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellowship, working on an exciting collaborative hybrid electric vehicle project using lithium-sulfur batteries.  This project is funded by under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 scheme, and is being undertaken with partners from the automotive industry and the battery industry.  The project will involve the development of state estimation algorithms for the real-time deployment in a technology demonstrator using both Kalman filter techniques and ANFIS techniques.  The research fellow will be expected to contribute to the design, development and demonstration of the system, and to work closely with our industrial and research partners.  The research fellow will also be expected to help mentor PhD and MSc students working in the group.

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant engineering discipline or be close to completion and have prior experience of algorithmic work with real time systems, and have prior experience of hybrid or electric vehicle systems.
