Senior Administrator - Committees and Executive Support

Salary:     £22,494 to £26,829 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the above full-time, APM level 3 post based in the School of Humanities, University Campus. This post will support the Head of School and Faculty Operations Manager, working independently and pro-actively to provide a wide range of comprehensive and confidential administrative support to the Head of School. The post-holder will be mainly responsible for providing effective and efficient support for a wide range of school and department committees and projects, as well as co-ordinating and organising specific human resources matters on behalf of the School in addition to other duties to support the Head of School. 

The role is based within the School Management and Research Office (SMRO).The SMRO team supports a wide range of activities across the school including Finance, HR, Buildings and Facilities, Marketing and Events, Research and Funding, Health and Safety and Committee support. The role-holder will be required to work collaboratively with colleagues within the SMRO team to ensure effective administrative support across the range of activities. 

Applicants must be educated to at least HNC/HND level or equivalent (in a relevant subject) with considerable experience in a relevant role, or broad substantial relevant experience in an equivalent role. Candidates must have proven minute-taking and committee support skills as well as excellent IT skills with the Microsoft Office suite, including in-depth working knowledge of email/electronic calendar. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential and proven experience of successfully working on one’s initiative and as part of a team. The role will require attention to detail and high levels of accuracy as well as the ability to work flexibly and under pressure, responding to tight deadlines in a variety of situations.

This is a full-time, permanent post.
