This is an exciting opportunity to establish and help shape a new Indigenous Higher Education Centreat Trinity College, the oldest residential college of the University of Melbourne, Australia’s premier university. As a central part of our overarching Strategy 2020, we are looking for an inspiring leader who will work with partners and stakeholders around Australia and internationally to create a Centre for Indigenous Higher Education with a focus on developing a community of practice in Indigenous higher education.

Trinity College’s Indigenous programs have been developing since 2001 and are set in the context of the College’s commitment to reconciliation with Indigenous communities. The inaugural Director of the Indigenous Higher Education Centre will lead the development of a community of practice by building relationships across the national and international higher education sector to advance Indigenous education practice. Reporting to the Warden, the Director will appoint and lead a team that will accumulate and disseminate knowledge of best practice through: sector linkages, events, meetings and forums; dissemination of tools, frameworks, language, ideas and information; and data sharing.

The ideal candidate will have a distinguished international record in the field of Indigenous education and demonstrated leadership in research, scholarship, and management. Experience across the education and Indigenous sector and outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate, mentor others, and represent the Centre in the community will be critical.

If you have the ability and the passion to lead our Indigenous Higher Education Centre, as well as contribute to the wider leadership of Trinity College, then we warmly invite you to apply.
