Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Concrete Structures.

NTU's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) aspires to be a leading school for Sustainable Urban Systems. Currently, it has over 60 faculty members and more than 1,500 students, and is rapidly expanding its range of educational and research activities. Its faculty has led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in space creation, water research and sustainable built environment. Going forward, CEE is addressing critical problems in urban systems such as building and energy systems, sustainability of urban cities, and resiliency to natural and unnatural risks.
To fuel further development, the School invites applications for a Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Concrete Structures.
Applicants are expected to perform high-impact and high-demand research that would lead to a strong extramurally-funded research program.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering. The new hire will teach reinforced concrete mechanics; construction technology; tall building structures and earthquake engineering at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and is expected to enhance the school's existing curriculum.
- Candidates who will advance in emerging areas relevant to structural engineering and structural mechanics, including experimentation and computation.
- Applicants must have demonstrated, or shown potential; to integrate novel experimental; numerical and/or analytical techniques.
- Candidates who have postdoctoral or higher academic experience and proven research record.
- Relevant professional qualifications and working experience as a structural/civil engineer will be an asset.
