You will be part of world leading research team in software systems reliability in the Safety Systems Research Centre, working in the Systems Reliability research theme led by Dr John May in the South West Nuclear Hub. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team developing state of the art methods to support innovation in the nuclear sector, working on both fundamental and applied research problems. 
 
You will help define the problems to be studied with the industry partners and develop new statistical testing models to provide improved reliability analyses for key nuclear systems. The applications of the work range from simple smart devices to the most critical components of nuclear plants such as protection systems. 
 
You will have at least a first degree and a PhD in Engineering, Science, Maths, or a closely related discipline.
 
This post is offered on a full time, fixed term contract from 15th February 2018 to 31 August 2018.
 
It is anticipated that interviews will take place in the week beginning 15th January 2018.
