Executive Director (Yorkshire Universities)
Full-time (Substantial part-time or secondment considered)
Location: The post will be based at the Yorkshire Universities’ Office located at the University of Leeds, Yorkshire
Yorkshire Universities (YU) is looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Executive Director to join its small but busy team. YU exists as a strategic body to lobby for, and promote, the interests and contribution of its members to the region. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Yorkshire Universities’ team working with Yorkshire’s universities, local enterprise partnerships and business.
YU is a membership organisation of the region’s universities. Our role is influencing, creating opportunities, and showcasing Yorkshire’s higher education (HE) achievements on behalf of its members. Our successful applicant will have a keen interest in, and in-depth working knowledge of, the policies and drivers around the HE sector and the major contribution it makes to the UK and its economy.
Running a small charity, you will be expected to turn your hand to most things to lead our busy team. You will need to be a team player and demonstrate a flexible approach. You will need to work confidently with senior members of HE staff and a wide range of YU partners. You will be an excellent communicator, able to speak and write fluently and appropriately to a wide range of audiences. Excellent research and analysis skills are also essential requirements.
