Translational Laboratory Administrator

The School of Health and Biomedical Sciences comprises three Academic Clusters (Allied Health, Applied Health, and Biomedical Sciences). Primarily based at the RMIT Bundoora campus, the School undertakes teaching and research across ten disciplines: Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic, Exercise Science, Human Biosciences, Laboratory Medicine, Medical Radiations, Nursing, Pharmacy, Psychology and Osteopathy. Many of the School's programs utilise Work Integrated Learning as an intrinsic part of their teaching either within partner industries or through the University's state-of-the-art student led Clinic located at Bundoora.
The School has a strategic focus on chronic disease and integrative health care with cross-cutting themes of: Indigenous Health, Exercise & Nutrition, Ageing in Health & Disease, and Medical Devices, Diagnostics and Prognostics. The School is internationally and nationally competitive in the clinical and biomedical sciences. Research within the School is supported by modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment.

The Role and Responsibilities
The individual performing the administrator role will support the Director of the Health and Biomedical Innovations Enabling Capability Platform with administrative tasks necessary to its operations, including but not limited to, documentation, compliance and reporting in OHS, human and animal ethics, as well as sourcing, inventory, ordering and service agreement oversight for the reagents and equipment.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have demonstrated experience in assisting in the management of a wet-lab including providing operational and administrative support to ensure its smooth operation, along with experience and proven ability to take the initiative in identifying issues and proposing opportunities to improve existing practices and services. A proven ability to work effectively as a flexible team member, committed to achieving own and work team goals and priorities. Continuous improvement will be essential to your success in the role.
