We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant or Research Fellow with a background in cardiovascular disease epidemiology. The post is based in the Department of Non-Communicable Disease Epidemiology at LSHTM, and will offer the successful applicant opportunities for paper/grant writing and project management related to several research projects on the prevention and management of CVD in India, notably a randomised trial of yoga for cardiac rehabilitation and a prospective household birth cohort study to investigate causes of cardiovascular disease in India.

Applicants should have either an MSc at Research Assistant level or a PhD at Research Fellow level, in epidemiology or related field. They should be able to demonstrate competence in quantitative analysis and scientific writing; have excellent communication and team-working skills and a background in cardiovascular disease research, ideally in India.

The successful applicant will be appointed on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible and ending on the 31st October 2018. The appointment will be made on the School’s Research Fellow scale (£38,533 - £43,759 per annum) for post-doctoral candidates, or Research Assistant scale (£33,567 - £38,533 per annum) for pre-doctoral candidates. While a post-doctoral candidate is preferred for this role, we also welcome applications from exceptional pre-doctoral candidates with relevant experience.
