The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking to appoint a new Director for its Research School of Chemistry. The ANU is ranked amongst the top universities in the world. Based in the capital city, the ANU is renowned for the quality of its research, the excellence of its teaching, and its ongoing contribution to public life.

The Research School of Chemistry has just celebrated its 50th anniversary and has a proud tradition of excellence in research and teaching in the chemical sciences, with graduates of the School playing lead roles in academia, other research institutions, industry and government. Located in a purpose-built, state-of-the-art building, the Research School of Chemistry carries out cutting-edge research in organic, inorganic, physical, computational, biological and materials chemistry, as well as having an innovative research-led chemistry education program that attracts top students from around Australia and from all over the world.

We are looking for an outstanding academic leader who will shape the Research School of Chemistry in the next phase of its evolution. The Director will be a strategic thinker with a track record in delivering and implementing change. They will be an influential external advocate for the School and will make a significant contribution to the wider leadership of the College and University, in order to achieve ANU’s broader strategic aims.
