The Institute of Education at the Faculty of Education is seeking to fill the position of a

Chair (W2) of School Pedagogy with specialisation on School Research

at the earliest convenient date. 

The Chair of School Pedagogy with specialisation on School Research is expected to represent the field of School Pedagogy paying special attention to the fields of school research and theory of school. In research and teaching, basic and current challenges of school education and teacher training shall be explored from an empirical perspective. The position holder will essentially contribute to the training of secondary school teachers. Involvement in the conceptual design of teacher training courses is obligatory. We are in search of a person willing and being able to cooperate with the Centre for Teacher Training and Educational Research, the Centre for Integration Studies as well as the (further) development of the Educational Research Laboratory and the linkage between University teacher training and regional educational institutions. The duties include participation in academic self-administration. The skills for lecturing in the English language are required.

The candidate should be experienced in grant applications and conduction of research projects. In addition, we appreciate applicants with additional qualifications that result from analyses of regional school development as well as cooperation among home, school, and all-day schooling. Applicants must fulfil the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (Higher Education Act of the Free State of Saxony – SächsHSFG).
