At the Faculty of Business and Economics the Junior Research Group Knowledge and Technology Transfer (Group Leader: Dr. Matthias Geissler), calls, subject to resources being available, for applications to a position as 

Research Associate / PhD Student / Postdoc
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

to be filled at 1 March 2018. The position entails 75 % of the fulltime weekly hours for PhD applicants resp. 97.5 % of the fulltime weekly hours for Postdoc applicants and is fixed-term until 31 December 2020. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD/ habilitation thesis).

Tasks: Work on the PEER-UP project (Funding scheme: “Quantitative Research in Higher Education”, German Ministry of Education and Research), Teaching in “Knowledge and Technology Transfer” or neighboring fields; Research into “efficiency analysis in higher education with focus on publication-oriented output measures”, publication of research articles (in English), participation in international conferences; support in academic self administration.

Requirements: university degree in Economics, Business Administration, Information Science or similar; Interest in empirical research with a quantitative focus; analytical skills; fluency in English (German is a plus, but not mandatory); self-reliant working style. For Postdoc additionally: PhD degree with appropriate focus (e. g., Higher Education Research, Efficiency Analysis, Bibliometrics, Network Analysis, …). We expect high motivation, very good communication and team work abilities and the willingness to integrate into the PhD structures of the TU Dresden and the faculty (for PhD candidates). The following criteria are not mandatory but count as a plus: Experience with common statistical software (e. g. STATA, R); Experience in handling large data collections, basics in SQL and programming; some experience in scientific conduct (internships, assistant positions, etc.); for Postdoc additionally experience in publication and teaching.
