Job Outline

The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Faculty’s departmental activities and postgraduate programmes support and any other tasks in the Faculty of Business



  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English;
  • Web design and development expertise;
  • Skills in developing written/printed promotional materials;
  • The ability to develop communication programmes targeted at different users;
  • Excellent time, project management, negotiation and communication skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Good planning and resource management skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks;
  • The ability to anticipate and resolve problems in a constructive and timely way;
  • Proven track record of successful event management;
  • Experience of working across departmental boundaries to ensure collaborative and coordinated approach;
  • Experience of working in a large complex, devolved organization;
  • Experience of working with tight and multiple deadlines;
  • Experience of using social media and other software relevant for marketing and recruitment activities.


  • An undergraduate or Master’s degree from an international university;
  • A qualification in Marketing and Communications or Events Management;
  • Experience of working in an international organization;
  • Knowledge of academic culture;
  • Experience of international conference organization;
  • Working experience in Higher Education.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Faculty Support

  • Provide frontline services to deal with staff, students and other queries;
  • Receive and arrange schedules for visitors (including international), including booking hotels, transport, restaurants, etc.;
  • Support departmental activities, including arrange department meetings, take meeting minutes and follow up the actions;
  • Support academic staff recruitment;
  • Maintain module convener list and calculate workload;
  • Translate/write letters/correspondence;
  • Coordinate the Project Transform activities in the Faculty Office;
  • Support the school events;
  • Proactively liaise with academic colleagues to collect, collate and circulate relevant information;
  • Support business school PR/Marketing activities and programme promotion;
  • Carry out other administrative duties and contribute to other areas of work within teaching and learning as required;

PGR/PGT Programme Support

  • Coordinate the academic activities for postgraduate students in NUBS China and update their supervision record regularly;
  • Organize postgraduate students welcome session, seminar/training series and other events;
  • Provide administration support for PhD students on annual review and viva;
  • Liaise with NUBS UK and module convenors to deliver PhD modules;
  • Liaise with Graduate School and NUBS UK for annual auditing and annual review of NUBS China PhD programme;


  • Participate in training and staff development, as trainer or trainee as appropriate, to develop and foster relevant expertise and awareness;
  • Maintain a proactive and flexible approach to deliver work objectives and assist other team members as and when appropriate;
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Faculty Manager.
