BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion is a young course at NUA which will celebrate its first graduating cohort in September 2018. The course has already made a strong impact both externally with regional industry partnerships and internally with its strong collaborative ethos. The course is situated within the Faculty of Design and Architecture and benefits from synergies with other courses within and across the faculties; in particular BA (Hons) Fashion, BA (Hons) Graphic Design, BA (Hons) Interior Design, BA (Hons) Film and Moving Image Production, BA (Hons) Textile Design and BA (Hons) Photography.

We are seeking to appoint a Course Leader with the drive, ambition and experience to continue to develop, promote and deliver this award and to lead the enthusiastic and collegiate course team. The role requires a deep understanding of the requirements for an undergraduate award that is clearly focused on preparing students for their future careers. It involves coordinating and delivering the curriculum; liaising with other Course Leaders, advising and managing course resources; promoting the course and student recruitment. The post holder will be active in cross-faculty and institution-wide initiatives.

The successful candidate will have a professional background in the fashion-related industries and a comprehensive knowledge of the global fashion industry. You will bring strong professional relationships with high profile industry contacts to support students in defining and developing their future career paths. Experience of preparing undergraduate students for careers involving the communication and promotion of fashion is essential. We are looking for a post-holder with excellent skills in course organisation and management and an awareness of the strategic imperatives faced by UK universities.
