Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (ATSIS) Unit was established at The University of Queensland in 1984, recognising the importance of support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and engagement with the Indigenous community. The ATSIS Unit strongly supports the celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and recognises the enormous contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and perspectives bring to UQ’s Learning, Discovery and Engagement activities.
The successful appointee will contribute to the Unit’s objective to increase recruitment, retention, academic performance and graduation rates of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at the University of Queensland (UQ). The position holder will assist in promoting The University of Queensland to Indigenous students and provide advice and support to Indigenous students across the student lifecycle.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
Applicants will ideally possess a degree, or an Advanced Diploma and relevant work experience in Student Support Services or related fields. They should have a passion for assisting Indigenous students through their whole of University life experience. The successful person needs to be able to manage student records, organise student focussed events, confidently liaise with various student groups and community organisations and, promote the academic interests of Indigenous students.

This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $74,207.07- $79,964.50p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $86,822.27 - $93,558.47p.a.).
