About the Jobs

The School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences has three positions available:

  • Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Teaching Academic Level B/C) (1.0 FTE) – three (3) year fixed term contract
  • Lecturer in Biosciences (Teaching Academic Level B) (0.6 FTE) - three (3) year fixed term contract
  • Lecturer in Natural Sciences (Teaching Academic Level B) (0.6 FTE) - two (2) year fixed term contract

The Teaching Academic Level B positions will primarily be focused on the preparation and delivery of teaching activities within the School’s undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs, while the Level C position will make significant contributions to the teaching and learning outcomes of the School. The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer and the Lecturer in Biosciences will teach across the disciplines of bioscience applied to human health, including physiology, whereas the Lecturer in Natural Sciences will teach across the discipline of biology, with a focus on animal diversity, ecology and evolution.

Skills and Experience

Doctoral qualifications in Biological or Biomedical Sciences (or a Masters in a relevant discipline) or professional / industry experience and demonstrated ability to undertake teaching duties including the design and preparation of teaching activities, are essential for this position. You will also have an understanding and experience in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies, outstanding written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

To be considered for the Level C position, you will have all of the aforementioned skills/ experience combined with evidence of academic leadership and proven commitment to the mentoring and support of the professional development of colleagues. You will have an established record of achievement in teaching using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies and a sound understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary practice relevant to the discipline/profession.
