Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic invites excellent scientists to apply for a

POSTDOC POSITION in the field of Isotope Analysis  of Trace Organic Environmental Contaminants

The compound specific stable isotopic composition of organic environmental contaminants holds the potential to identify pollutant sources, understand global and local transportation processes and determine degradation pathways and kinetics. Traditional isotopic measurements are only practical for use on a small set of compounds and consequentially, current applications lack the sensitivity necessary to investigate environmental contaminants at ambient ‘trace’ concentrations. Building on previously conducted research, this study aims to evaluate the potential to conduct CSIA of other organic contaminants with the use of recently developed high resolution-accurate mass spectrometric techniques.

The Research Centre for Toxic Compounds in the Environment (RECETOX, focuses on interactions among chemicals, the environment and biological systems, including impact and risk assessments. Expertise of the centre allows for the investigation of interdisciplinary links between contamination and health, biodiversity or climate change. The RECETOX research infrastructure includes international sampling networks, epidemiological studies (ELSPAC cohort:, accredited trace laboratories as well as environmental information systems (GENASIS:,
