The Victoria University Industry Postdoctoral Research Fellowship program supports outstanding early career researchers to work on collaborative research projects with external partner organisations.

In partnership with Tennis Australia, Victoria University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow with a background in a relevant discipline including electrical and electronics engineering or mechatronics engineering, with an interest in biomechanics for a postdoctoral appointment based at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Active Living (ISEAL), Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia.

This Fellow will investigate the development of new technologies to test the effect of equipment (racket and/or string) selection on tennis player performance. The applicant should hold a PhD and have strong/demonstrated research skills, particularly in relation to embedded systems, sensors, actuators and signal processing. Significant experience in developing or using simulation software, signal processing software including machine learning, and data analysis with application to human movement problems is required. Experience developing bio-mechatronic systems is highly desirable. 

The remuneration package will be in the range of Academic Level B: $92,946 - $110,372 per annum plus 17% employer superannuation contribution. This is a full-time fixed term appointment for three (3) years.

The preferred starting date for this position is1 March 2018.
