Lecturer and Teaching-Intensive Scholar in Bioscience

The formation of the College of Health and Medicine will provide the optimal model to boost health and medical research performance and enable excellence in training health professionals, which together will transform health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.
The School of Health Sciences specialises in Nursing, Allied Health Sciences and Rural Health. The School is looking to appoint Teaching Intensive Scholars to undertake teaching and administrative duties in the school in a range of disciplines and units, focussing on Human Bioscience (anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology).
The Lecturer and Teaching Intensive Scholars will:
- Make a significant contribution towards the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate contemporary nursing curricula, including unit coordination, evaluation and utilising emerging and online technology
- Advance and actively assist the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health and University of Tasmania Learning and Teaching Agenda including compliance with the University of Tasmania and School of Health Sciences Quality Assurance Framework and accreditation requirements
- Participate in partner liaison, student recruitment and promotional events as required
- Actively engage in fostering collegial relationships within the university and with all School of Health Science stakeholders
Applicants will hold a degree in science, allied health or biomedical science along with demonstrated knowledge of human bioscience, particularly in pathophysiology, physiology and anatomy. Demonstrated ability in coordinating units and delivering dynamic and relevant learning experiences for students across all delivery modes is essential.
These appointments are 1.0 FTE continuing (tenured) and located in Launceston, Rozelle or Hobart. Appointment to these roles will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $127,368 comprising a base salary within the range of $92,326 to $108,862 plus 17% superannuation. An attractive relocation package may also be negotiated with the successful applicant.
