Lecturer in Exercise and Sports Science

The formation of the College of Health and Medicine will provide the optimal model to boost health and medical research performance and enable excellence in training health professionals, which together will transform health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.
The School of Health Science specialises in Nursing, Allied Health Science and Rural Health. The School is looking to appoint accredited Exercise Physiologists to join the dynamic Health Science team building capacity in evidence based research and pedagogy. The positions will provide leadership and instruction in theory and practice in the programme at both the undergraduate ad postgraduate level.
The Lecturer in Exercise and Sport Science will:
- Undertake high quality research of national and increasingly international standing, securing external competitive and other funding
- Make a significant contribution towards the teaching of undergraduate and post graduate contemporary curricula, including unit coordination, evaluation and utilising emerging and online technology
- Actively engage in fostering collegial relationships within the University and with all School of Health Sciences stakeholders
Applicants will hold a current registration as either an Accredited Exercise Physiologist or Sports Scientist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) together with a PhD in a relevant health science discipline. A strong record of and continuing commitment to research that has achieved national recognition, along with a proven capability in coordinating units and delivering dynamic and relevant learning experiences to students are essential.
These appointments are 1.0 FTE continuing (tenured) and located in Launceston. Appointment to these roles will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $127,368 comprising a base salary within the range of $92,326 to $108,862 plus 17% superannuation. An attractive relocation package may also be negotiated with the successful applicant.
