The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University's strategies related to RMIT's academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.

The Role & Your Responsibilities

The Mentoring Program Officer - Recruitment will be focusing on engagement with and recruitment of students from a top 30 programs, specifically targeting low SES, indigenous and International students, in order to maintain and grow the participating student pool in the Industry Mentoring program. The role will also focus on the development and implementation of business development strategies around the top 30 programs and it's relating industries; organise mentoring events and activities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will also assist in hosting employers, industry and professional associations, community organisations and internal stakeholders on campus at employment-related mentoring program events, or alumni employment events.

Skills & Experience Required

As the successful candidate you will be confident in your communication and networking skills to develop and support relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including local and global employers, industry and professional networks, community organisations and RMIT students, alumni and staff. You will also have capacity to think and work innovatively, effectively and flexible in a fluid multi-disciplinary team environment. Your ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team to achieve identified goals will be imperative to your success in this role. Strong computer literacy skills with demonstrated information technology capabilities with a large range of software, including Microsoft Office suite, databases, mentoring software (preferred) email and web management, with the capacity to quickly learn new systems. Degree in relevant discipline and/or substantial relevant experience is required.
