The Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) is Australia's only faculty dedicated to information technology, and with 120 academic staff it is the country’s largest concentration of researchers in computer science and information systems. FIT has world-class research groups in Data Science; Computational Biology; Modelling, Optimisation and Visualisation; Data Systems; and IT for Resilient Communities. These feed into our educational programs, which cover the full range of IT topics, methods and issues. Facilities are first rate and include an interactive high-tech lab (SensiLab) and a state-of-the-art 3D visualization facility (Cave2). The faculty also hosts a Data61 Lab and participates in MAXIMA. The Opportunity

This position represents an exciting opportunity to develop your research expertise and contribute towards the research of the University within the Faculty of Information Technology.

This position will work within the Alexandria project, a next-generation digital learning and teaching environment, specifically on improvements of the front-end and back-end infrastructure, as well as methods of integration with external software services within and outside of Monash.

As the Research Fellow, you will play a critical role working with the staff and students of the faculty to conduct joint research with external industry and research partners

You will have the opportunity to use your deep understanding of modern web architecture and your analytical skills to build an innovative and cloud-powered educational repository that is using by more than 27000 users across Monash University. Our team is always looking to innovate, so you'll have the chance to learn new languages, frameworks, and paradigms and propose novel solutions to emerging problems.

To be successful you are required to have a doctoral qualification/equivalent qualifications/research experience, have an emerging track-record of publications and presentations, be able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks and have well developed interpersonal and written communication skills.
