The Faculty of Informatics of Masaryk University (FI MU, https://www.fi.muni.cz) in Brno, Czech Republic, invites applications for two Post-doctoral positions in Computer Science with emphasis on the research areas listed below. The Faculty has a strong interest in attracting applications from abroad.  
  
The postdoctoral positions are awarded for full 2 years, shorter stays are not possible. Gross salary is offered at 63,000 CZK per month, which sums to more than 29,000 EUR per year. Additional funds of 6,000 EUR per year will be available for travel and material expenses. The start date of the contract is negotiable, but it should not be later than the end of August 2018. Research areas: algorithms and complexity, big data analytics, computer security and applied cryptography, critical information infrastructures, formal methods, human-computer interaction, image analysis and processing, information retrieval, logic and automata, machine learning and data mining, management of data, natural language processing, quantum information processing, scheduling and planning, virtual and augmented reality, visualization.

Requirements 

The candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree not older than 7 years at the time of application and, during the past 3 years, they must have worked in the field of research, or have been Ph.D. students, for at least 2 years outside of the Czech Republic. Furthermore, during the past 3 years the candidates must have got at least two publication outputs registered in the Web of Science or Scopus databases as “article”, “book”, “book chapter”, “letter” or “review”. The applicant must be the principal author at least one of the publications. 
  
Evaluation 

All candidates are expected to be fluent in English, while prior knowledge of Czech is not required. Candidates will be evaluated on the ground of their strong international research record, and preference will be given to those whose research topics best match the research focus of the Faculty of Informatics.
