We are seeking to recruit a Systems Technical Support Officer who will work with the ALSPAC Data Team, supporting existing systems and contributing to new ones. The Data Team manages both the IT systems supporting the ALSPAC study and the data resource the study produces. The post-holder will work closely with members of the team in order to support the systems already in place as well as contribute towards improving processes, e.g. by writing scripts to automate everyday tasks.

The post-holder will gain a broad knowledge of ALSPAC systems in order to support day-to-day operational activities. These systems include electronic data collection systems, a bespoke participant administration web application and a document processing system, which scans and verifies document content storing it electronically. The role will involve user support, troubleshooting, reporting and common administrative tasks.

You will have an opportunity to effect change within the data team by implementing solutions to automate common tasks and improve productivity. This will involve identifying areas where automation may be implemented, designing solutions in collaboration with colleagues and developing scripts where appropriate.
