About the opportunity
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Cardiology Research group at Kolling Institute is a research only academic position. The successful applicant is expected to make original contributions to the research effort of the Cardiology Research group. This includes but is not limited to providing technical knowledge and expertise, actively contributing to research activities, designing research protocols, undertaking core aspects of research work and contributing to analysis and key findings, applying for funding, and publishing key findings generated by the research group. The postdoctoral research fellow will contribute to the training and supervision of students, and the daily running of the lab. The position requires a highly motivated, energetic and conscientious person, with a postgraduate level qualification and excellent research track record.

- PhD qualification in biomedical science or biomedical engineering
- expertise and understanding of coronary physiology in cardiac haemodynamics
- extensive experience in computational imaging and analysis
- extensive experience in flow simulation and modelling.
Ability to perform statistical analysis would be highly regarded.
The Kolling Institute is a major biomedical research institute at Royal North Shore Hospital and is a joint venture between the University of Sydney and the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD). The research focus of the Kolling Institute is on a range of lifespan conditions. It has over 200 staff and students in a number of major research divisions.
The Cardiology Research Group seeks to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Fellow working with Prof Ravinay Bhindi. The appointed candidate will have a strong understanding of coronary physiology and cardiac haemodynamics. The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to studies in Coronary Chronic Occlusion modelling and experimentation, sheer flow simulation, and asses the level of cardiac collateralisation and function of collateral vessels after remodelling.
