About the Job

The Advancement Unit’s function is the strategic management of relationships to increase understanding and support among key University constituents. This includes alumni and friends of the University, members of the community and philanthropic organisations of all types.

The role is responsible for developing, coordinating and overseeing campaigns and programs in order to generate revenue from a variety of sources by way of corporate supported projects, major gifts, appeals, donations and sponsorship for the University. While undertaking research and analysis of prospective donors, organisations and agencies, the role will also liaise extensively with prospective donors, corporate and industry leaders and other outside agencies concerning fundraising and sponsorship projects. 

Skills and Experience

You will have at least 5 years of experience working in Fundraising coupled with qualifications in business, marketing (or a related discipline) or equivalent demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience. Your proven income track record, extensive experience and achievement in planning and implementation of targeted sponsorship/fundraising campaigns and exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills will ensure success in this position. While extensive experience in planning and delivering public relations and/or marketing programs is essential for this role, knowledge of issues facing the higher education sector will be highly regarded.
