In 2016 Charles Sturt University (CSU) established an Engineering program, with a vision of a world-leading approach to educating engineers. The program was designed to link industry needs with best practice in engineering education. A strong commitment from CSU meant that the program was able to be truly innovative in its approach, and to build a curriculum and a philosophy that differs radically from traditional engineering programs.

CSU Engineering operates a strong program of engagement with local industry, the community and schools. Maintaining this cadence requires key skills in event management, as well as the maintenance of a strong social media presence.

The Events and Social Media Officer is a hands-on position responsible for all detail of the planning, co-ordination and implementation of events hosted or sponsored by CSU Engineering. The events may include launches, seminars, sponsorships or dinners. The delivery of the event will require effective communication and liaison with all levels of CSU and volunteers to ensure all aspects of the event are considered and contingencies are planned. This includes coordinating social media and public relations activities and requires knowledge of appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines; and assistance with the implementation of social media messages.

Applicants are expected to apply online and outline how they meet the selection criteria listed in the position description.

Applications close: 17 December 2017.
