Charles Darwin University (CDU) is a dynamic and ambitious regional institution offering a quality education experience, with a multiplicity of cultures, from Vocational Education and Training through to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

With our main campus in tropical Darwin, we have other campuses and learning centres throughout the vast Northern Territory and have developed deep connections with our Indigenous communities. Through our exciting new strategy, Connect, Discover, Grow, we aim to sustain our success in the rapidly changing and competitive global and domestic educational sector and reinforce our position as a provider of transformative skills and learning.

Reporting to the Provost, the inaugural Pro Vice Chancellor - Education Strategy (PVC-ES) will provide vision and leadership in education strategy and work closely with the academic facing areas of the University to drive a culture of excellence and innovation in learning and teaching.

The PVC-ES will oversee the strategic development and design of curriculum, assist academic professional development, safeguard academic quality and review, and capitalise upon its dual sector characteristics by facilitating the development of embedded programs and further consolidating educational pathways. Online and interactive technologies have distinguished our University's advancement in teaching and learning and the PVC-ES will pursue the enrichment and enabling of future opportunities for excellence in this domain.

This exciting opportunity will suit academics with a deep knowledge of contemporary learning and teaching strategies and the use of innovative technologies, particularly regarding student cohorts with diverse engagement needs, and a track record in achieving measureable outcomes in improving education quality.

The PVC-ES will bring the capacity to contribute to tertiary policy development and change and knowledge of current policy, trends and challenges facing the higher education and vocational education and training sectors. Applications will be further supported by proven leadership and management skills, a demonstrated record of strategic planning and decision making, recognised interpersonal and communication skills, and a PhD or equivalent relevant post graduate qualification.
