Charles Darwin University (CDU) is a dual sector institution consistently ranked in the Times Higher Education Top 50 Young Universities in the World, with its main campus in tropical Darwin and other campuses and learning centres throughout the Northern Territory and Sydney. Dynamic and ambitious and with deep connections to Indigenous communities, CDU offers a quality education experience to more than 23,000 students from a multiplicity of cultures. With a large contingent of online students, CDU provides alternative ways to access education from Vocational Education and Training through to Higher Education undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. 

Consistent with its exciting new strategy, Connect, Discover, Grow, CDU is implementing a college based structure and now seeks six outstanding candidates for the appointment of Dean of the College. Reporting to the Provost via a transitional PVC of Higher Education, this key leadership role provides vision and leadership in the strategic development of the College and delivers successful outcomes in line with agreed priorities. As Dean you will direct the academic leadership and resource management of the College, building upon CDU’s profile as an outward looking, regionally engaged institution, with high-impact research. 

Ideally, you will need to demonstrate outstanding credentials in teaching and research, distinguished leadership and interpersonal skills, and a successful record of leading and managing the operational aspects of the College or an equivalent academy. Your application will be further supported by a proven record of accomplishment in leading and implementing academic and strategic initiatives and outstanding communication and interpersonal credentials, including highly effective relationship building and negotiating skills.
