Group Marketing manages and promotes the University's brand, reputation and achievements. The Communications team provide advice and guidance on effective internal, external communications and issues management strategies. The team manages the University’s reputation in the media as well as with key stakeholders and develop high level messaging about the University for its target audiences.
This role plays an important part in implementing communication strategies aimed at protecting and promoting the reputation of the University, particularly to media and external audiences. Working with the Issues & Media Manager you will bring excellent writing and relationship skills to deliver and distribute press releases on research, learning and teaching and community engagement activities to the media.
Contributing to the planning, development and distribution of external/media communications for key clients and stakeholders, including partnerships with media channels, editors and journalists will be vital in ensuring the University can be heard and seen in national conversation.

- Degree and/or equivalent experience in communications, marketing or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience building and managing partnerships and developing networks with media agencies, channels, editors and journalists
- Demonstrated skill and experience in issues management and implementing successful mitigation plans
- Demonstrated ability to write and edit audience focused content for a variety of communication channels
- Proven ability to manage organisational social media accounts to positively influence social media conversations
- Demonstrated skill and experience implementing communication plans and strategies across multiple channels
- Demonstrated ability to develop creative approaches to content for engaging audience interest
Salary Package: From $90,330 to $97,937 p.a. (HEW Level 7), plus 17% superannuation and annual leave loading
