An exciting opportunity to lead and develop Higher Education Food programmes at Reaseheath College.

Reaseheath is a specialist land-based college in Cheshire, federated to University of Chester and has University Centre status.

Due to the continuing popularity & growth of our Food Science Higher Education programmes, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team of teaching staff who are genuinely passionate about their subject and about supporting every student to reach their full potential.

The Food curriculum area has a strong tradition of innovation and exceptional employer engagement and works closely with the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink. The college has an international reputation for Dairy Processing education and skills development, providing training for some of the world's largest dairy processing companies. The department has recently started a trail-blazer higher-level apprenticeship and already has several undergraduate programmes. We are continually developing our degree level programmes to meet the changing requirements of the food sector and anticipate new opportunities in this area with the right person leading higher education curriculum development.

The successful candidate will hold a higher degree (minimum of Level 7) in a Science or a Food Science related discipline. In addition, they will preferably have some experience of the food industry and ideally have prior teaching experience within the Higher Education sector, having completed, or be working towards completing, a nationally recognised teaching qualification and accreditation with the Higher Education Academy. Formal teacher training will be provided to any successful candidate that does not hold a relevant teaching qualification.

The role will include delivery of formal lectures, practicals, tutorials and seminars, in addition to undertaking project supervision up to Honours dissertation level. You will also be responsible for the administration of the modules you deliver, including the implementation of quality assurance processes. There will also be an active role to play in development of new curriculum content that keeps us at the forefront of this evolving sector.

Applications are welcomed from passionate and enthusiastic individuals, with some knowledge or experience of the Food industry and a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject. We are committed to providing our learners with a high-quality experience. You will be able to utilise your knowledge and experience to provide a wealth of learning opportunities for our undergraduate students. Good team-working and communication skills are key attributes within this dynamic team.

Please note, you must have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this.
