La Trobe University seeks to appoint an exceptional and innovative Pro Vice-Chancellor to lead the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce.
Since its foundation in 1967, La Trobe University has sought to be diff erent – it has been challenging convention and changing the way people think for over 50 years. The College of Arts, Social Sciences and Commerce comprises four schools: the School of Education, the La Trobe Law School, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the La Trobe Business School. With three key research centres including the Centre for the Study of the Inland, the China Studies Research Centre and the Institute for Human Security and Social Change, the College has approximately 19,000 students and revenues of $250m.
Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro Vice-Chancellor will be a critical member of the Senior Executive group. The role will have significant academic and leadership responsibilities to drive performance, while leading complex change. The capacity to ensure delivery of a high-quality student experience, building strong partnerships and enhancing the University’s reputation nationally and internationally will be critical to success.
