This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career academic to join the prominent Wilin Centre for Indigenous Arts and Cultural Development. The role will focus on undergraduate breadth coordination, postgraduate program coordination and supervision, mentoring and development of emerging Indigenous academics, development of the research program, as well as development and conduct of an independent research program.
You will hold a PhD in a relevant area, will have experience of teaching in an area of Indigenous Australian artistic practice in lectures, small group and one-on-one settings, and have exceptional intercultural competencies in teaching, learning and mentorship. In addition, the incumbent will have a well-articulated research plan that is based on strong links to local and national Indigenous communities in Australia, the research agenda of the Wilin Centre, Faculty of VCA and MCM, and University, and that meets national strategic research priorities. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong track record in research on an area of Australian Indigenous arts and culture.
This is a full time, fixed term appointment until 30 June 2020. The position is based at the Southbank Campus, in the heart of Melbourne’s Art Precinct.
