The School has thriving and dynamic research profiles in almost all areas of psychology, and is able to attract visitors from overseas and other institutions in Australia. It possesses good links, often through cross-appointed staff, with other schools in the University, thus creating opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborative research.
The successful applicant will work with Associate Professor Stefanie Becker to conduct research on the processes and mechanisms underlying attention, perception and awareness, in particular the neural mechanisms. The appointee will undertake independent and collaborative research projects using a combination of behavioural testing and neurophysiological methods.
Applicants should have a PhD in experimental psychology, cognitive neuroscience or a related field, as well as an understanding of the processes underlying human perception and cognition. S/he will have the ability to manage research projects both independently and in collaboration with others, to design and undertake research, and publish outcomes in high quality outlets.
This position is full-time, fixed term from 1 January to 31 December 2018 (with the possibility of an extension for a further year) at Research Academic level A.
The remuneration package for Level A will be in the range $64,533 – $87,535 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $70,664 – $95,850 p.a. full-time equivalent).
